How do you get the additional buttons to be recognised by games?

I have the latest mouseware, XPpro/sp1, and I cannot games to map to the side buttons of the mouse. I have tried it with RTCW,IGI2,UT2003 - none of them work.

The button I most want is the side thumb button , on previuos mice I used it as move forward and have got in the swing of playing this way - now I'm goosed without it.

Beginning to feel like I have wasted £50.

Any help much appreciated.

cheers,

mike.

Do you mean an additional app to the one that comes with the mouse?

I have tried setting the buttons within the mouse software to various commands, the mouse itself works fine. Its just that when I am in the game setup and try to say set up third (side) button to move forward the game will not respond to the button press.eg, in the mouse setup i have configured the side button to [delete]

go into the game settings and click on "move forward" and i press the side button to give the game the key for that command. If I press delete on the keyboard, the games sees the keystroke and maps the key. when the game starts , you can only move forward by pressing the delete key on the keyboard, the side buuton of the mouse does nothing EVEN THOUGH I HVE SET IT UP IN THE ******* MOUSWARE TO [DELETE]!!!

sorry bout that, but its begging to get on ones *******.

The only way I got round it is to map the thumb button to a key like page down and use that. Would be interested to hear if anyone has managed it properly though.

Sorry to say it, but 99% of the time all of my major buttons work perfectly with ut/bf/ss2 etc with the 9.75 mouseware drivers.

Cheers,

Nick
