I've had an Olympus C-100 1.3 Megapixel camera for about a year now, though now want something with better quality - sharper pictures.
Can anyone recommend a Digital Camera that takes good sharp pictures that doesn't cost loads?
Here's an example I took in perfect sunlight - can't even read the billboards properly at the bottom of the pic - the ladder at the side of the church spire is blurred too.
I've left the pic at the original size - not posted on here as it's big.
Example not very sharp pic
Thanks.

Based on the recommendations of loads of other Scoobynetters, I went and bought a Fujifilm 2800 zoom and haven't been disappointed. Pictures seem to be sharp and colours well-defined and I think it's now available for about 215 quid so good value for money. Don't forget to budget for some rechargeable batteries and a nice big memory card though

I have just bought a Kodak LS443 from amazon.co.uk for £279 which is a great price. It is 4 megapixel, gets very good reveiws and you can buy a 128meg MMC from the states on ebay.com for £35 delivered.

Martin,
There's a brand new 1D on eBay for £2300 at the moment - it's about the 3rd week he's been advertising it at that price, so he may even take an offer..... Hes advertised it as Canon EOS-1D and for some readon a search of 'Canon 1D' doesn't find it so I reckon he's not geting many hits.
I thought about it, but I'm sticking with my D60

I bought a Fuji fine pix 50i from Dixons last week. Originally selling for £400, now £200
I think they are the end of line type sell offs, but still its a damn good camera for the money.
Theres a review here http://www.edgereview.com/ataglance....imaging&ID=243
Depends on how much u want to spend, for me its ideal. Im no professional photographer but i wanted something that produced decent pics and didnt cost a fortune.

Thanks for the heads-up. I had seen this on eBay before and wonder why it keeps getting re-listed. I've had two long conversations with really genuine private 1D sellers on eBay before, and their 1D's have sold no problem. Maybe there's a problem somewhere....not least that it's a US model and *I think* I'm happy to pay a bit more for a genuine UK one

Have a look at http://www.dpreview.com/ it should give you some ideas and it also has some test images taken with the cameras
Al the 1D will be the same even from the US but the warenty may not be valid...also why wouldnt he get many hits with it advertised as a Canon EOS-1D ??? thats what the model is ?? not a Canon 1D.
Ive held off from going digital for a long time but Ive just sold my EOS 1n and equipment as im just not using it and i should pick up a Minolta Dimage 7Hi on thursday.
