Windows XP - takes 30secs+ to open a folder, delete a file

try re-installing your graphics card - are you running service pack 1? do you have virus software running?

Wahoo - helpdesk fixed it. Someone came over within 5 minutes of me placing the call too... impressive.

It was down to a mapped drive not being able to reconnect. God knows why this caused it

It was prob waiting for the connection and timed out after a certain time (30 secs ??).

The delete thing is a bug with XP sp1, you can't delete from shares - I'll dig out the Q number - I posted it here a few weeks back but can't find it.
