Just bought it. Top game but disapointed with frame rates. I have an Athlon XP2400+, 512mb 333 Ram, 80gb 7200rpm ATA133 Hard Drive & a Radeon 9700Pro running XP Pro. At 1024 x 768 I get 25-30 fps and if I put night vision on it gets very choppy.
Doesn't matter whether AA enabled or not.
Is this the norm?

AA is not supported by the game due to X-Box coding used in places, so turn that off!

Otherwise it doesnt sound at all right, you using DX9.0? My Geforce 4 4400 is giving better performance that that! Latest ATI catalyst drivers? Got the Splinter Cell 1.1 patch?

The patch they released is the most important thing!

All sorted now.
It was due to the fact that vsync was set to 'always off' rather than 'application preference'.
I now get 55-70 fps with 6x AA & 16x AF.
AA definately works as well!

I don't get it? In my experiance having VSync on reduces frame rate, so setting it off would be a plus.

Yes that has always been my experience but I think that is mainly the case with openGL games rather than Direct3D
