Since changing my ISP from PIPEX to fast4net my access to Scoobynet has been severely restricted. Having tried each night for the last 7 days to access this BBS this is my only success. Does any body else have a problem accessing this site or is fast4net going to be a pain in the ****? All the other sites I usually visit can be accessed as per normal.

i think it's because of the ISP. fast4.net get it's line from v21.co.uk.

here's their reply (v21 technical support)...

Technical Support - Hi, unfortunately we have seen this problem before and it is related to a router out on the internet which acts as one of the hops between your computer and this website. To establish which hop is causing the problem try conducting a trace route from your computer (type tracert www.scoobynet.co.uk from a DOS prompt.)

means you might or might not get scoobynet! like now, i can access scoobynet, but dunno if i can if i disconnect and reconnect again. i think if you cant access scoobynet, disconnect and reconnect again.

btw, how's fast4.net? i was tempted to sign up with them because they are so darn cheap!

Thumbs down

how fast? not very. I too was tempted by the price, but it can take half a dozen attempts to connect so the thought of disconnecting and reconnecting again is not very appealing. Still, it does mean I spend less time on Scoobynet and more time talking to the family.
