Angry

Starting to get annoyed by this.

IE 6 SP1 on W2000 SP2.

If I hit a link in Fave's or an icon on the Links shortcut bar, everything loads as fast as you'd expect on our quick link.

However, if I manually type into the address bar, there's at least a 10 second pause (can be 20 secs+) before IE gets to work. The globe spins, but no attempt is made to load the page until the first navigation click sound is heard. At that point, the site loads as usual.

Anyone seen this before?

TIA,

Chris.

best bet is to install W2K SP3
then install the latest patch for IE6 then patch that to correct the bug in the previous patch

I have NetCaptor installed which uses the IE engine to provide a tabbed browser. That works fine - type the URL, hit enter and it's instant. IE is still slow though.
