I can't quote my source but i was reading something on www.tweaktown.com which said that modern day monitors don't need screensavers anymore. Not sure why not but I'll still use one.

All my boxes run savers from ReallySlick. My favorite is still Helios, but you need to tweak the settings to get a really impressive display.
I run Helios on a test server we have in the lab. When I'm there I make sure it is on and get on with my work. Boss walks in, wants to tell me about something boring/reorganisation/synergy (insert any management bullsh*t here) but gets side tracked by the display. Works every time.
Cheers

mj,
Quicker to type the settings but I use:
Number of Ions : 4500 (anything from 3000 upwards works as well)
Ion Size : 8 (go to 4 for a more "clinical" look)
Number of emitters : 4
Number of attracters : 4
Animation Speed : 100 (vital for the effect)
Camera Speed : 10
Motion Blur : 1 (only use 0 - 10, any more makes a pigs ear of it)
Thread priority : 0
Helion surfaces : ON (has to be done for the wacky colours)
Thing about Helios is that if it is at all jerky the effect just doesn't work. Most important is that this saver really needs to run for at least 30 seconds before it really gets going.
This saver is the only thing I've tried which gets the graphics card fan running at a higher speed
Cheers
