Unhappy

A friend copied some films onto CD for me last night but when I put them in my DVD player it says that it is not a valid disc.

Is there anything I can do?

Are there different format types?

If so how can I find out what format I need to have to play them?

Please help as I really wanna see these films.

ok...

1) Are you sure its a VCD disk?
2) Does your dvd player play "backed up" CD's (mine wont)
3) does the cd work in your pc?

Dizzy,

1. Don't know. I am a techno-moron. They are just CD-R discs.
2. Haven't got a clue.
3. Not tried it.

The guy I got them off has done discs for me before but I have never tried any of these in my current DVD player. It is a cheap and nasty one so I guess that it is going to be in compatable with all of them.

Is there a way he can transfer the films from DVD to video?

I dunno.

It's my wifes computer.

The guy that done them for me is looking into either:

1. Putting them on Tape. But he is haveing problems.
2. Finding another format that my cheap and nasty DVD player will like.

Any tips anyone.

Hi,

Probally they are saved onto the cd-r in a format not understoody by your DVD player.

Does your DVD player play video-cd's?

Then ask him to burn the again as video cd's.
If you have a PC, can you load up the files and run them in media player?
