Hello,
got 3 "ahem" adult pics in my documents folder.
when i come to delete they wont delete!!
if i right click then goto delete it says the filename is too long or invalid
i cannot re-name the 3 files
i have opened the files using notepad(they were jpg pics) and deleted all the text/jargon and this got rid of the actual picture image but the file is still there.??

start bar choose run type in cmd choose okay should bring up a command line interface, type dir press return you need to get to the directory where files are typing cd "Whatever directory name is as appears when you typed dir" goes to that folder, cd.. goes back a folder, when you in correct directory with pics type erase "whatever file name is"

just tested it myself but i'm on xp

i have the ms dos prompt thing up.typed dir into it,now how do i get to C: my documents?, this is where the files are?

Or boot into Safemode and delete the dodgy pics. Then try not to download the dodgy pics inthe first place.

should say something like c:/> at the moment type dir
should list folders (directories) not sure how there displayed on me, on win 98 it was something like mydocu-1, on xp there listed like my documents.
you'll need to type cd my documents or whatever it say's, then dir again just to make sure your in ringht folder type erase filename including .jpg or whatever it is.

Delete temporary Internet files first, then open the dos prompt and type

dir *.jpg /s

This will search all the C: for .jpg files and list where they are.
Type the location in ie, c:>cd Documents and Settings\John\My Documents

Then do a dir

Delete the files (c:>del youdirtybugger.jpg)

Stand back, light your pipe
and admire your handiwork
