Creating shortcuts..a quick question

create a shortcut on your desktop and in the target line, type in the directory, eg
d:\my documents
when you're finished right click on the new icon to get the properties and with the cursor in the shortcut field, press your key combo or simply F11 if that's your fancy.
I use ctl-shift-N for Notepad - most useful.

Is it possible to assign a task to an F key?
ie in windows f11 is minimise.Could i assign an F key say,to open the my documents folder?
