XVID to MPEG?
#1
How do I do this?
I've managed to convert the movie file to AVI with no sound and I've saved the sound as a seperate WAV file. But what do I use to combine them?
I tried using TMPGEnc but when I play it back it comes out really bad. The movie as a AVI is dvd quality.
Any ideas?
Cheers

cheers. But virtualdub is used to strip the audio of a film. I've already done this. Im at the stage were I have:
1 wav file which contains the sound for the movie but no picture
1 avi file which has the movie but not the sound.
I now need a program that will combine them, but as the film was originally XVID format TMPGEnc cant seem to combine them.

Doe the avi involve a white rapper?
Anyway, I had similar issues and I found the answer today!
Look here
The bit on the page that help me was:
Try first to change the codec reader settings in TMPGEnc under Option->Environmental settings->VFAPI plug-in and right click on the DirectShow Multimedia File Reader and increase the priority to 1 or 2 and try open the video.
If that does not help be sure that you have installed DivX or XviD or MPG2 or DV Codecs and also try with the Nimo Codec Pack.
Hope this helps
Andy

I use virtualdub to combine Video and Audio if i need to. First open the AVI file in virtualdub and then click on Audio/WAV Audio and select the file(also select direct stream copy from Video) and then save the file back as an AVI. Then convert to MPEG.
Did you use virtualdub to split the AVI? If so, why? TMPGEnc will take an AVI(with video and audio) and process this no problem.
