Have just set up a pc for my father (thanks for the advice and help already rec'd) - only thing I can't now solve is that some websites are coming up in german !!!!!!

Any ideas ? (and no, these are websites that when accessed on my pc are in english, so we're not actually looking at german sites !)

It's a long shot, but I'd suggest you check (in IE) "Tools" Menu -> "Internet Options..."

then under the "General" tab, press the "Languages..." button

and remove anything that isn't english

(use the Add button if english isn't listed)


Did you set the machine up from a German version of Windows?

Thanks, will try this. No, standard windows (albeit 95 !). Never used to be a problem as I know the previous owner, I'm wondering if her children managed to change a setting or two, just don't know what ones to look at.


Will try as you suggest. Any other suggestions (so that I can try several things at once !).
