Not much of a windows expert but here we go ........
due to a load of installation *issues* I have ended up with my bootable drive being d: .. this has win2k plus some apps on it and works fine...
There is a c: formatted and ready to go, and I'd like to migrate everything back from d: to c: , then delete the contents of d: and merge them with partiton magic.
Obviously it's not just a matter of copying the data & changing the boot.ini as there is probably a load of registry entries specifying d: as the installed path.
Is there an *easy* way of doing this ?

Imaging the harddrive won't sort out the registry entries that point to D: and to be honest I would be surprised if the machine would boot anyway if a D: drive image was moved to the C: drive.
Among other things all the system paths and registry entries will point to the wrong locations and you may end up with more issues attempting this than reinstalling everything from scratch on the C: drive.
Use the CD to back up your data files while you do the reinstall.
