AFAIK the Sharp GX-10 is exclusively locked to Vodafone and cannot be unlocked in anyway.

Just spoke my brother & he says that it can be unlocked but you need to take the phone there + costs £50.

So to be honest its not really worth it at that price. Unless you have a buyer on another network as it is only available on Vodafone.

Hope this helps.

Ok - I'm not that knowledgeable on this:

If its Vodaphone only, could I stick a Vodaphone Pay As You Go Sim card in it ?

To confirm, there's no way it will work with an Orange Pay As You Go Sim card in it ?

You can put a Vodafone Sim in it without having it unlocked. Paying £50 to unlock it will mean any sim from any network around the world will work in it.

Ah, got you!

I thought when it was stated it was exclusively Vodaphone, it couldn't be unlocked for an Orange sim card!

Cheers!

Also, if I buy this phone, if I get it unlocked and stick my orange sim card in, will the phone's telephone number change ? eg. Is the phone number stored on the sim card ?

Daz,

if you unlock the phone you can do what you want with it , the only thing that stays with the phone is the imei number (kind off).

the only thing is check the orange network can cover all the features that voda do,

and the other thing is , if it's a camera phone check if people can receive what you will send.

I used to be a voda customer and went orange, I have a great deal with orange where as long as i a m a customer i get free texts every day for life and thats PAYG.

I have the T100 (best phone at the time)

hope this helps
