this format sql is giving me an undefined error:
insert into tablea
(a,b,c,d)
values
((select e from tableB where tableB.field='value'),'value','value','value')
can I do this in access?

don't worry, sorted.
stupidest rdbms ever. unless my new boss is reading this, then it's pretty ******* excellent, ultra reliable and a breeze to interface to.
