straight from my Claranet newsletter.

For those that are interested.....

We are pleased to announce that BT are to make the below
exchanges broadband enabled on the following dates:

January 17th 2003: Harrowden, Drayton, Buckley

January 24th 2003: Shaw

February 14th 2003: Merthyr Tydfil, Inverness, Culloden

February 21st 2003: Matlock

February 28th 2003: Worle, Alton

i wish.........my exchange is number 1700 odd on the list of exchanges to be adsl enabled. only 35 ppls interested and three of them are me

feel like doing a leaflet drop round the doors to encourage up take.

ahh well maybe sometime in the next 100 years......

Tottle over to www.bt.com/broadband Fuzz - whack in your phone number into the "Check Registration Levels" box and Robert is some distant relation...

I thought the trigger level was 200. Christ if its 400, rural places will never get it in, ever, period. 59 for my village so far, **** lol

BT have been trialing a couple of exchanges in Scotland for small scale DSL installs.

IIRC, the DSLAMs have a lower capacity, hence cost less and are ideal for small village type exchanges.

If they rolled that out smaller places might have a chance.
