Question

Looking for a lappy for about a grand ex VAT.

Essentials include built in modem, 10/100 ethernet, decent sized display, 256MB RAM, fast processor, good battery life, lightweight.
Optionals include combo drive, 30GB+ HD, wireless LAN, very fast processor.
Not fussed about OS or software.

Fave so far is a Compaq Evo* N800v (has DVD not combo as standard)
for £999.
*Wonder if they do a Tommi Mak edition ?

Any other suggestions?

Ta muchly

I have just bought a Toshiba Sat 2410 504 from PC World today. It was reduced from £1400 to £999. It has everything you want apart from the hard drive at 20Gig. It is very good, well recommended.

You could try one of these Fujitsu Siemens Lifebooks, from the website or talk to WillieF about them.

I have used one for 18 months and have had no problems (that arent MS related )
