ok im a local small time car trader been on the net for years but havent a clue how to make a website, id like one were i can update stock etc with pics, also how do you go about advertising the site once set up? ie banners etc? rough prices?>

You could get someone to do it for you if not do it yourself. I'd advise using Dreamweaver or Freeway to make up the site.

You could use something like Filemaker to store the details of the cars and publish this infomration as HTML.

I'd personally get a few books and start with something basic like I'm doing at the moment. Then once you get it working well and looking good bolt on the extras to give you the functionallity you want.

try MS frontpage if you can get it! dead easy to use no coding HTML, just add the text and insert pics.

I built my website myself from scratch using MS FrontPage as it was all i could get my hands on at the time.

Up until a few months ago i was a complete novice, all i knew were some of the usual BBs tags.

carl thats a good site m8, so do i have to pay a monthly rental to own one? how do i get the webspace? im a complete novice, were can i get the software you all talk about to design the site?
