Hi,

I can't get this to work on my machine.. anyone have an idea?

I installed the UK distribution from take 2, and then the cpu speed fix, version 1.2 update, and the directx patch in that order. the game crashes back to the desktop after displaying the splash screen.

I have also updated the core.ini file as stated in the directx patch, but had exactly the same problem before trying the directx udpate.

My system's specs are as follows:

Windows XP SP1 DirextX 8.1
Athlon XP2000+
MSI K7N420 Pro (Nforce 1 motherboard), using on-board sound
512Mb PC2100
Leadtek Winfast A250D Geforce 4 ti4600
Lots of free disk space

Ok, I've seen this before.

Go into the appropriate ini file and change to the software renderer (soft.dll or something)

That should at least let you start the game without any crashes. Once you're in the game change the graphics renderer to DirectX (or OpenGL) and restart.
