Ok, dont freak me out with massive teccy speak please
I've got a Athlon XP1500, Abit KT7-a Raid mobo etc etc.
Problem is that my current hdd (Maxtor 20gb) is fine, but I bought a new IDE Seagate 380020 80gb monster to go in as my 2nd drive, I plug it into either the Raid or the IDE connectors and it doesnt get detected in the bios, And I thought pc's were fairly simple lol.
Any ideas?

Have you used Seagate's DiscWizard 2002 ? Makes it really easy to install a second drive

Yes mate tell me about it, it's going to take flying lessons soon lol...
Ok, the bios is set to Auto, am pretty certain its powering up can hear it wizzing and it gets warm!
The bios i'll need to check, probably will need updating to the latest version, I did it back in June (if mem serves me right)...

Have you checked to see if there's a new bios update to enable hard drives above a certain size?
I don't know about KT7's but when i wanted to turn my old BP6 into a mail server for work, it refused to acknowledge any drive over 20GB until i'd flashed a new bios into it.
HTH.
John.
