I know there's a few post on here relating to this subject but I really need to know is it worth spending my hard-earned on?
Got a PS2 already bit unhappy with the last game I bought, want an Xbox but can't quite push myself to buy one.
If I do get one how soon can I get on XBOX live and start playing, I thought the service didn't start for another couple of months over here.
Should I? Or am I just being greedy?

@Super_Si, Why didn't you like the Xbox?? May I ask you what games you had with it?
I have already 20 games with my Xbox and I really don't want to miss it.
Xbox Live (UK) should be released in March 03.

IMO The Xbox urinates all over the PS2.
I have 10 XBox games and all of the are quality (would I buy anything else?)
Everyone I know has ditched their PS2's for XBox's. It's goot to go round my mates house with his 2 tv's and link cable for 8-player Halo without the need for broadband.
XBox live is a blast, it's by far the easiest and most user friendly online gaming system I've used (the Dreamcast was difficult and very slow)
And Toys R Us offer the best deals around, XBox and 5-6 games for sub £200.
Microsoft maybe losing money on the xbox through the rapid price reduction, but they'll have the marketplace in europe easily if the trend of Xbox outselling PS2's in December (due to the deals - Hmmm XBox and 3 games for £179 vs PS2 and 1 game for £179 - you decide).

According to industry stats, PS2 is still outselling Xbox 4 to 1. I have both but prefer the XBox.
I have a friend who has been offered 90 from Game for his PS2 and is now chopping it in on an XBox.

Swiss Scooby, this sort of stuff comes from sites like http://www.gamesindustry.biz , so it should be pretty reliable, at least for the UK.
Particular info about UK sales figures is at:
