I need to add set up a an online shop to sell approx 100 products.

I have access to a PDQ machine and can create the website.

However I have no experience of the e commerce software. I have had Actinic recommended but it seems expensive having to buy the software at £379, SSL at &100 and another £300 to my ISP to change the server it is hosted on.

Is this the best option?

Is there a problem with newer computers not having Java on them?

Any advise greatly received.

You could always write one yourself.
You'll need:

1) A decent scripting language (CF, ASP, PHP)
2) A decent database (MySQL)
3) A good host
