Are you experiencing very slow response time during connection especially after 19:00 ?
I'm getting fed up
1) Alcatel Speedtouch USB is SH()T
2) BT Openworld is the slowest service providers among all others.

Today I had to disconnect and wait before reconnecting for at least 6 times.

maybe it's getting cold, so instead of going to the pub after work, people now go straight home and surf the net :-)

Since I installed it it gave me incopatibilities problems (both win 98 and 2000).
After some time connected it simply doesn't respond to inputs. That is when i click a link it doesn't find the server.
Rebooting solves the problem,,,, for a while.
I tried to download all the updated drivers for the modem, various Micros. service packs , usb via ports, etc. nothing changed.
This happens with my desktop and my laptop.

Don't know what to do.

Don't forget ADSL is a contention based network with a 50:1 contention ratio for home use and 20:1 for business. So you can be sharing your ASDL connection with upto 50 other users at peak times, so response will be slow.

I would suggest that you bin the USB Modem and get yourself a ADSL Router...

Thumbs up

nope... just get the router and plug it in no need to tell your ISP either.

And as a bonus.....your connection will..

Not be dependant on which version of OS you use
Be able to be shared across numerous PCs
Be faster !!!!!

You will need a ADSL router, Network Cards for you PCs (assuming you don't already, A hub/switch, and some cable...
