Sorry to hear that - in the midst of my 2nd redundancy myself!
Dunno about specifics but I've seen plenty of IT jobs with *Security* stuff attached to them on Jobserve.
http://www.it.jobserve.com
When you search, I've found the best way is by using location. i.e. try using 'berkshire' or 'surrey' for example.
Good luck mate

Sorry to hear your bad news, seems like it happening to quite a few of on here, I got chopped a couple of weeks ago
And I am so bored at home its driving me nuts, done the cv thing out to all the agencies etc and looking on sites. The difficult thing is trying to stay off the beers and not to spend any money
Hope you have some good luck and find something soon!

Tony (Burns), what telecoms firm did you work for? I got made redundant from Nortel Networks at the start of this month. I'm now working towards my CCNA (anything to keep me busy and stop me going mad at home!) while looking for jobs.
Seems it's a bad time of the year to get made redundant as i've had very little response from agencies.

It's not all bad out there; the key is to not want a job
I'm another nortel escapee who volunteered No, not mad, I was fed up, and planning to do a ski season, travel, and do just about anything to avoid working for them.
So, sods law dictates, the new job found me, comprehensive payrise, change in role - in the direction I wanted to go, and erm, bang goes my plans Not stupid enough to turn it down.
FWIW I would offer the following advice / comment - all IMHO:
1) 2 years ago anyone was getting hired so long as they knew how to use a mouse, consequently there are a lot of folks about that know diddly. If this is you, er, bad luck
2) There *are* jobs, but it's square pegs for square holes. Employers can afford to be choosy. The rules have changed (Sadly!)
3) Do not trust / rely on the big 'one size fits all' agencies, or using the web to look for jobs. I actually don't know anyone who has got a job off the web. (this may be a statistical anomaly) I much prefer using the telephone and !talking! to peeps. That way you have an identity. I personally use a small, trusted agency I've used for ages. Their client base may be smaller, however they know me, and know their clients well, a recommendation goes a long way. I am lucky! Try researching companies directly, and contacting directly. Amongst other things, they like to save on agency fees!
5) Think about your interviews; I honestly believe it has a lot more to do with how you come across than what you know. Relax!
Of course, none of this may help, it may be that there isn't a job out there for you - at this moment in time. There will be, keep looking, it's easy to stop actively trying. It's very rare the job finds you. Hope this doesn't sound too patronising!

what's this mouse thing you're talking about?
only kidding
went to see a specialist sales agency today. the tw*t consultant only seemed to operate in broadcast mode and didn't seem to want to talk about potential roles for me.
funny, i thought that was their point

Don't get me started on agencies! I once placed my cv with a certain large, well know IT agency; the chap assigned to me had just moved up from being a double glazing salesman. Need I say more
