Need a little help folks
Any idea what a reasonable price would be for the following:
For the period of 12 months-
1. Host a (fairly basic) website with:
- 9 pages in total
- Approximately 15 graphical images
- 11 low res. photos
2. Provide some hit analysis on the site.
3. Continually submit the site to leading search engines.
(Site production, maintenance, mail/web forwarding etc not included)
Does £300 plus VAT sound fair?
I know it's a bit like "how long is a piece of string", but any feedback would be helpful....
Thanks
Rich

Thanks guys.
Not really looking for alternatives at the moment, just after some confirmation that £300 is or isn't VFM before I challenge it.

Defo NOT VFM.
That level of hosting will cost you about £50 a year max. All depends on what they are doing with the search engine submission really. If they just submit to Google once a month then its overpriced. If they constantly update your meta tags, register with all search engines, check the site thoroughly for relevant search engine data, etc etc and are generally pro-active with submission, then it may be more in line.

Thanks for the feedback guys
Okay - to be fair to the company in question, I said that site maintenance was not included, but it is - I just haven't proposed any updates yet - my fault.
I intend to rectify this now and depending on how much they will let me change/update within the cost, £300 may not be so bad after all...
DW - no idea to what extent the search engine submissions go to, but I'm reasonably happy with the number of customer enquiries I currently receive from the site...

Meaning that included in the price, they will update the site with any new text, graphics or photos that I give them. - This is the bit I got wrong on my original post.
Exactly how many changes I can make remains to be seen.
So, to be fair, £300 may not be so bad.

Yeah that makes a huge difference! Like going from hosted sites, to fully managed sites! In which case £300 isn't bad (depending on frequency of updates).
Do you mind if I ask who from ?

LOL - so I'm a muppet! - But that's no secret...
Yes - it's not just hosted, but I've yet to test how fully "fully managed" is...

No I don't mind if you ask who from Jon, but given the unfair bad press I may have generated for them in this thread, maybe I shouldn't.
(You don't need to be too much of a detective to work it out though... )
