Question

How difficult is it to write an application to fetch information from an Exchange server without using Outlook. The application I have in mind will ask a user for a date range and then look at a number of peoples calenders for specific fields. It would then display the information on the screen. For example it would count the number of business appoitments and training courses etc.

Prefered development environment would be for the web but I don't know what type of language I would be using.

Thanks

Si

If it's Exchange 2000 you can do this using the WebDAV protocol. Here's a start point:

Relevant part of MSDN

I have written a Java application that uses WebDAV over HTTP to retrieve and synchronise users' calendars and contacts. You can get at public folders and email too, but not tasks (yet???? - still waiting on Microsoft).

BTW if it's Exchange 5.5 I don't know but suspect you're into Visual BASIC land then.
