Agree with Bio - too many people put the emphasis on whether the tree in the background 20 feet away has realistic leaves on it - WTF

Who cares??? I like my games to have good graphics, but it's more important for them to play well. CMR3 is superb at reproducing how I imagine rally cars drive. It is great fun barrelling into a set of bends and feeling the car slide about.

Graphics aren't everything these days (and never were actually, he says remembering back to Pitstop 2 )

Played the XBOX version. Wasn't very good

IMO Rally Championship on the PC is still the best rally game

Played the demo of CM3 and WRCII Xtreme last night...
hmm... need to play them both again.. but initial thoughts...

WRCII - better graphics than CM3, initially fiddly controls (more realistic perhaps??) and seems to be a more polished game..

CM3 - easier to get in to, but not quite the graphics I was expecting.. although the rain on the windscreen is very cool.

IMHO of course...

PLayed it for about 2 weeks now and still love it to bits. OK as a package it is certainly lacking in things. i.e. only 1 champ mode, then single stages, cant change replay view, cant look back in car, the list goes on.

But...the actual in game playability is fantastic. Just get in there, forget about the downsides and have a really great spin through some great scenary. Finland is a fave with the trees hanging over the road. Superb.

Plus I only paid £27 for it, so worth it for me

Red face

compared CMR3 to Rallisport Challenge on the X Box...must say Rallisport wipes the floor with CMR3....what a botch it and scarper job!!...its crap...trees taht look like wire frame cheappo X-mas trees....the only good thing about the game was the crash physics on the cars....

they have the potential to create fantastic looking games and what do we get?....utter tosh!!...not impressed...so no doubt that the PS2 version will look worse than the X-BOX one did

thank you .....rant over

munna with respect its not about eye candy with these games, its about how realistic it is and how playable it is and longevity. In all cases CMR3 is the daddy, imo

Agree with Dream and Bio.... I think the actual playability of CMR3 is superb and I actually love the graphics.
You get such a good impression of speed when driving and when I crash it really does make you jump!

I still seem to flinch and move around in my seat when clipping trees, or having near misses with rocks, same as in CMR2
