However there are some privacy laws that mean that you boss cannot just spend his time surfing through what you surf, not without possible legal backlash. You cannot look without justification, which he'd need to prove if he fired you and you went to court.
There also needs to be a policy in place which provides guidance on whats OK and whats not, your bosses personal opinion is really not a factor, company policy is. All in all its a grey area, its unlikely they can do anything unless someone complains e.g. someone sees XXX on your screen or something.

Reason I asked was that the day of the Paris motorshow I was at work.I printed off the pics of the new Impreza then got called away. I left the pics in the printer. My boss finds them the next day, so I get the bollocking.
I said I wouldn't use it again, but I have but only occasionally.
So it looks like I could be in for another one if he can get at the history etc..
