How do you initiate the dialing?

Do you launch Internet Explorer, or actually click on something that makes the connection?

That does sound weird?

If you were going via IE, it could have been something to do with a network timeout that then re-tried the connection, but if you are trying to connect directly then i don't know

Admittedly i don't use FreeServe (or XP).

Are there any properties boxes associated the connect program?

mb (stalling for time until someone who actually uses FreeServe can throw in some ideas )
