Still the same date AFAIK.
Personally I thought the X-Box demo was fantastic, but others had mixed feelings. The UK level was superb, one of the best courses I have seen on a rally game.

The in-car view is incredible
The demo lets you play a Japanese course where its raining, the sound of the wipers, the raindrops on the windscreen and the smearing of the water on the screen is so lifelike you can almost feel a breeze coming from your screen Fantastic

Just read that due to license problems there will be no 206 WRCs in the game, also all drivers apart from Colin will have fictional names - the PC version will allow you to change these but not on the PS2. It also only has eight rallies.
Now the Sony WRC II will have all cars, all rallies and all drivers names, I just hope they improve the driving experience.

On a serious note it sounds like we are now being robbed I hope it's good after all this waiting. It's a shame about the peugeots and strange considering he just signed for their sister company. Is there a list of cars in the game yet?

Check the website for all the latest details -
CM3
From what I gather the only car you can drive in the full game mode is the Focus, the other cars are available only in the arcade type mode. IMO it does not sound very good, the driving simulation will probably be very good but with it limited to 8 rallies and Joe Bloggs style driver names it is not going to be as complete as WRC II.

bioforger,
It was in a review of driving games in Autosport a couple of weeks ago, I have checked the CM3 website and it does 'infer' that you drive as CM in the full game mode for the Ford team. There is nothing to say that you can drive for another team in this mode of the game. I am going to wait until a fellow Scoobynetter kindly reviews it for us before taking the plunge.
Si.

Here we go -
"The main championship mode now takes you on a 'potted history' of Colin's Ford World Rally Championship career. You play as him and you are given three years to win a series of titles for the Ford Team.."
"This means that you drive the Ford Focus in career mode, although the game does feature other cars....which form your competition but also provide alternative rides in the game's other single-rally modes and time trials". (Taken from Autosport October 10).
This sounds a bit too much like Toca Driver with a linear script to play through rather than a full rally championship. I fear they have made a big mistake if this is the case.

I am starting to look less forward to this now Can you fire your co driver in the game too? At least it's my brother who is buying it so I get to play it for free I will let you know whether its worth buying or not. I am also keen to see if wrc2 is an improvement. I only played the demo of the old one and it p!ssed me off in 2 minutes
