Looking to build a PC with a Duron 1.2 Mhz processor. Is it any good though?
Want it for my son, so basically to run games, run some recent software etc. Would probably build it with xp or Win 2000.
Thought would be appreciated!

Hello Chris,

IMO you'd be better off going for an Athlon XP processor. The Durons are not very good for 3D gaming, more aimed at the Office market.

Some good deals on Scan in the Today Only section

Thought you might reply, that was part of a deal with Medway, all the components to build a PC for £215!!!
Will look on SCAN for that stuff. BTW where did you buy your CD RW from (Liteon 40x I think), Medway want £50, think you mentioned £35.
Cheers,
Chris

I've got several machines, one is a duron 1200 and geforce 3. It'll run all mainstream games just fine, so long as you're not some overclocking frame-rate geek who wants 1600x1200x32 max details, 200fps....
