A mates just built a pc, 2gig amd, ddr etc etc
was working ok, he changes cpu settings in bios, said it read 280 after (?) switched it off and on and now no screen but sounds like its booting up, no screen at all, is it a fried cpu, gfx card or the board or memory, no beeps, just no screen

change back the BIOS to the CPU setting. if still fault, set BIOS back to default or lower the CPU speed. check all fans are working.

if not, maybe the CPU or something else is fried!

Yep - reset BIOS or CMOS settings - refer to mobo manual on how to do this.

Grafix card - take off case, take out & re-seat firmly - try again.

if it was 2000@2800!

id say probably dead!

from when i build mine. pc needs cpu ram and hard drive + graphics card to work. IF one them 3 are dead then it wont boot.

Sorted, he couldnt get to the bios settings so removed battery for 10 mins and replaced.
