sh*t that many!!! Thanks for the offer but I'll think I stick with the few that Ive got. Gonna set up a job in SQL Server to extract distinct town names and add to the list once the app goes live anyway.
Si, Java? I thought you were doing VB last week????

It's just too many, I only need the towns not the villages (being fussy I know!!!) Thanks for the offer anyway.
Good old FoxPro hey, that brings back some memories spent years using that, good little environment in it's day, hey Si its another one for you to look at!!!

Does anyone know where I can get an online list of UK towns, I need to populate a DB with this info, hopefully I can get it free but a STFW has brought up nothing so far, got the counties easy enough. Any ideas?

There are roughly 29,000 towns, villages etc in the UK.
I have a complete (I think) list in a Foxpro DB. Would you like it zipped & emailed? It is pretty comprehensive but might include a few that were added, like LHR or LAP for Heathrow Airport & SW6 for Fulham etc.

Sorry - make that 50,000 
Just remembered that you can buy a gazeteer with them all in - I think the Map Centre in Caxton Steet, SW1 does it. Guess they might have a CD/DVD version by now?
Anyhow, why don't you want the DB? Its only 3mb & a easy import?
