I have a very old version of Autoroute and was thinking of updating it, as now I have the Westfield, decent routing to avoid motorways is needed

Thing is my old version allowed me to copy the whole CD into a directory, then install from there, which means I don't have to carry my CD drive with me (v useful to make the laptop lighter)

So does the latest one insist on having the CD available?

cheers,

greg

AR 2002 has the option to install all to the HD.

With AR 2001, I just used to copy the CD to the HD and then run setup from there.

I've got AR2000 which allows me to copy to a dir then install from there.

I guess AR 02 is much improved? When does AR 03 come out, maybe worth hanging on for that?

cheers

AR02 does have an option to run from HDD.

I haven't used the CD's since the install.

The mapping data in AR2002 doesn't appear to have been updated at all since AR2001. And I had a feeling that was the same as AR2000 too.

Cool

AR2002 is the same as Mappoint2002 without some of the programing features.

It can be installed to HDD without any problem.
