Hiya

I want to set up my first website with html and am looking for somewhere to host it.

I've heard nothing but good things about Titan but their £50 a year cheapest option is a bit too steep for me. £30 is my max a year really.

Can anyone recommend any other good hosts for £30 or less a year? I know that you can get free domains etc but the pop ups annoy me greatly!

Cheers all!

Katie xx

Try their "Free" General Package. A Friend uses them to host THIS Message board ... as you can see, No Pop ups and quite a high bandwidth limit. don't see that you would have any problems

I'm actually looking at that one at the moment Suba! I saw you mention it on another post. I'm looking at the value package for £30 here. The .co.uk name I want is available too. Could oen of you lovely lot possibly explain what the things I get with the package are?? I'm afraid I'm still learning about webhosting and a lot of it is flying straight over my head. One thing confuses me: Why 100 email addresses? Sounds a bit greedy to me.

Avi, will have a look at them too thanks!

100 emails address...

you can setup 100 email address on your domain name. so for example, if your domain name is qwertyu.co.uk, you can setup emails like your.name@qwertyu.co.uk, etc.

Titan - £1 a week, worth it for the service, hassle free FTP and quality hosting. These cheap places are a nightmare.

Spoke to HostPlus. They seem to be saying that I will have to pay £60 upfront to have the hosting for 2 years due to a .co.uk address. But but but...!

Long story.......

Gist of it is, I got ill, lost job etc. Still ill and on incoem support (and incapacity benefit hopefully, I'm having to fight for that a second time). Not a great situation to be in. For fun stuff like own web page I have to use what's left of my savings and there isn't much.

That answer your question?

Question

Out of interest, if you're that skint that you can't afford £20/year for titan, should you perhaps consider leaving the webhosting until you have a bit more cash coming in?

Or use the free webspace from your ISP, and point your domain at it.
