Can anyone help me here.
I generally keep my history files and cookies to a minimum but need to know the date that I accessed a particular website. Since this was about 6 weeks ago, I don't have any history or cookies that help. Is there anywhere else I can look.

And no, this has nothing to do with accessing **** sites

If you are on a fixed i/p you could ask them nicely to review their webserver logs ...

Don't think I have a fixed IP and was hoping that there was somewhere I could reference at my end.

generally clearing ie history does not delete cookies unless you sepcifically delete them, have a look on your HD, it may still be there

Yes I run Norton Firewall
I physically delete all cookies from temporary internet files folder.

Looks like I may not need this info now, but I'm still curious.

Thanks.

You could try the following.

In your 'login' directory settings (for example for me it's c:\Documents and Settings\Sheepsplitter\Cookies) have a look at the cookies for your site.
i.e Scoobynet's is
sheepsplitter@www.scoobynet.co[2].txt on my system.

The file will usually contain useful info.
For example the Scoobynet one has the first data field defined as the date and timestamp you arrived on the site in the format YYYYMMDDHHMMSS.
Later in the file you will see the field 'Lastvisit' which is followed by a similarly constructed date.
If you open the file in notepad and cut it out and paste it into a topic reply on Scoobynet it will magically make more sense!!

i.e

Note I have put ???? in the fields for passwords, just in case it gives too much away.

Some files are easier to figure out than others.

Hope this helps.

Question

Have you looked in the Event Log for Norton Personal Firewall - in the Web History tab?
