I have some Real Media Files.. I wish to record them as Wav or mp3..
Can anyone suggest a (freeware/shareware/????) program that will enable me to do this.. is there a way of recording the output from the soundcard back into another program?
Or is there a prog that will convert .rm to .wav or mp3?
any help appreciated.

Any prog will do this. Just play the file in Real Player and use your software of choice (mine is Sonic Foundry SoundForge) to record from the line out channel
There are progs around to convert .ram and .ra to wav. have a search in Google, can't remember the one I used now

I just keep getting silent files
basically trying to record music.rm into a format that can be burned to Audio CD.
Cheers

Not on the PC I do it on at the mo, but bascially you go into the Volume Control (In Accessories), switch to recording controls and select the correct channel
A bit vague sorry, but when you are in Sound Forge ready to record, open up the volume control and try selecting them until you get a signal.
