Team fortress classic (9 different classes to play ) and day of defeat(ww2 mod) .both half life mods.
prefer over counterstrike due to the class variety

We've had a TO clan going for some time and now looking to move. Been looking at CounterStrike and also Americas Army. AA is awesome for realism but predominantly American Servers and admin tools/in game browser suck ! Will probably go CS until new UT engine comes out. CS gives great gameplay and without the stupid stuff in TO, ie bunny hopping and being able to run full speed even though health is 10% !

Battlefield 1942. I absolutely love it.
It has already claimed 2nd spot on the most played online games list and it is only a demo!!!
Keep an eye on this one folks. It is really good.

Cheers,

Nick

Counter-Strike is the best for long term gaming IMO...

Also love things like QuakeIII, Unreal, etc.

Basically anything that involves a big gun!!!

Orbv, I love how you miss out the fact that it hasn't even been released yet and it is on the verge of toppling Camper Strike!

thats not a difficult feat Mr F.......

considering how far behind CS every other online game is in terms of popularity and number of servers / players etc.

CS is and will remain the online game of choice....

That one is down to the old phrase of "time will tell"

I remember, that's what everyone said about "Quakeworld"

....then Quake2

This is really a subjective issue.

I have always been a Team Fortress fan. IMO nothing else comes close and I have tried a few.

Team fortress has about 9 different classes of Soldier that you can pick from, all have their advantages and disadvantages. The game is far more structured and less chaotic than death matches. Excellent for the beginner and expert alike.

The original team fortress was a mod for Quake

Team Fortress Classic followed for Half-life

The Q3F for Quake III - IMO this is the best team based mod I have seen so far. If you want to download the beta2 for a try go to Q3F.com

Its about a 90 mg download mind!

If you do intend to have a go, drop me a line and I'll come and kick your butt!
