Starting an application as a service in Win2k server ?

Any ideas if its possible to start a 3rd party application as a service for Win2k server ?

It is possible, but not a great idea. There are a number of utils out there that will do it for you.

There's the srvany.exe tool (run applications as services utility) which comes with NT 4 Resource Kit Supplement 4, that should do the job you want.

If you need assistance in locating a copy of the executable, I'm sure I can help , drop me an email if you don't have a copy of the NT Resource Kit.

Cheers.

I know it was pretty simple to do for NT4, but can't seem to sort it for Win2k Server. Obviously not looking hard enough. Will try that utility Miles mentioned.
