Ok we at the office have used Sage as our service provider for a while now, and recently they informed us that they are transferring the ISP to Sonnet Internet.

Within the bumff it said along the lines of "you will not notice the transfer on the 12th august, your internet and email shall be unaffected".

Well i assumed it was ok because on the 16th it was still working ok, however in the afternoon it did not on some of the pcs in the office. Turns out we had to remove a tick from the USE PROXY SERVER option in internet properties.

Oh and they infact changed it over on the 16th around lunch time.

Well that cured internet access. We now have an email problem, can send but cant receive. Apparently the server is down. It took me 2 hours to get through and find this out, and i am now told it could be another 2 hours before it is sorted.

Why o why do they make comments like it will be smooth and seamless??????

If everything in computing was smooth & seamless, we wouldn't get paid as much as we all do to smooth out the creases.

too true, but then some people in our office think they put faults in on purpose to warrant consultant fees and hardware upgrades etc.

Makes you think though....i dont care if they do to be honest, as we would probably stand still otherwise.

BTW Have you managed to get the server up and running yet so we can receive emails

Or is SN taking up too much of your time
