Question

Received e-mail with attachment from unknown party with title TERMS OF USE. I had been waiting for a message with a photo as attachment so I thought this could be it. I saved attachment to a floppy and then scanned this with Norton (which I update regularly) which reported all clear. So I then opened attachment but got Virus message (BadTrans?) from Norton so I immediately deleted file. No damage seems to have been done but why didn't Norton pick this up when it scanned floppy or doesn't it work like that?? Thanks in advance. David

It should have. There's no excuse for your on demand scanner missing viruses that your on access detects. The good news is you're not infected.

I'm biased by the way.

Thanks chaps. DA - I will look at settings (didn't know there were options). Thanks J - I am aware of your other hat!
At least I am reassured that I was doing the right thing in principle. David.
