I have this software on my computer with my CD writer,
I use it for making copies of my c:// drive with the things I don't want to lose.

The problem I keep getting is every month when I want to up date what i copied on to CD from my c:// drive, it wants me to format, it wont just let me put the new copies over the old, WHY.

This software lets you drag and drop if you like but still i have to delete everything off before it will let me copy on to the Cd again.

Have I got any setting wrong?

I assume youre using a CDRW, did u format the CDRW as a packetCD? if not thats why.

You'll find the packetcd formatter under tools, in the main menu I think.

I have just been in to have an other look and to follow instructions, were it says click on make rewriteable, well the button is not lite to use. Also the select drop down list has my name in it and shows nothing else and i can not change it.

How do i turn the blue button back on because it is a rewriteable CD, i'm sure i have seen it lite before

Thanks chel xxx

if you are using direct CD,

why not copy the old contents , format the cdrw and start again, i know it says it can take ages to format for direct cd,

if i remember correctly you have the "finalise disk" option enabled or close session, if it's a cdrw write the contents hit eject and say NO to finalise session or something like that,

as a pointer i used to do stuff like that but found it unreliable , with the cost of blonk cd's , why not back up and date it, if you buy bulk spindle disks you can get them for about 30 pence max maybe even 20 pence

hmm you should just be able to drag/drop dont remember any settings. It just automatically creates a new session. Are you overwriting files?

I am backing up privet things once amonth, then i drag or copy on the same disk.

It don't seam to like me to put more over the top, if i clean it off or delete them, then it will let me put my things on.

I really think its a setting some where because my guy used it one then he asked me to close his CD, since then its played up.

once youve closed the cd you cant write to it. If you do that with a CDR thats the end of it, with a CDRW the only option is to reformat
