Have bought a new TV (Toshiba 32" Nicam w/s 100 Hz) and found that my light gun on an original playstation will not work.
The gun cannot be calibrated and when playing most games, the shot seems randomly spread on the screen.
Have tried setting up theough an AV channel and through the TV aerial socket but get same problem each way.
Any ideas?

Refresh rate of TV is higher than the 50/60Hz the lightgun was designed for.

Does your tv have a compatible mode eg. 50/60Hz ?

It has choice of 100Hz or "natural" whatever that is?

You're buggered. Light guns do not work with 100Hz TVs. Not many TVs are switchable between 50/100Hz either.

Have you found problems with text scrolling yet?

Switch to natural (50Hz?) and give it a go. You may find that works.

Thanks all.
have e-mailed Toshiba to see what I can do.
Tried switching to "natural" but no luck.
When I have it rigged through the AV connections the picture is p1$$ poor. Any reasons why it would be so bad?

Luckily I have kept my old TV so it will have to be the dedicated games screen.

Had a reply from Toshiba. They have confirmed that the screen rate will not allow guns to be used on their (and others?) TVs.
Roll on progress......
