Does anyone have the 116Mb upgrade from 1.0.0.3 to 1.0.0.5 that they could send me on CD ?

Jeff, is it going to be on a clean installation of Half Life?
If so you can have the 1.0.0.5 full version jobby - 121megs.

Also bearing in mind that you'll need the most recent Half Life patch too - have you got that one?

IIRC, the 1005 update is for the retail version of CS. This is the one you install from the cd. If so then you only need the 1005 update to play CS, you don't need to update your HL as this is separate from CS in the retail edition.

I need the upgrade for the retail version which has been installed from CD and I can't be arsed to download 116Mb via an ISDN line.....
