Reading NTL email on an Orange mobile ?
#1
hi,
I've just bought a Sony Z7e mobile phone and have spent an hour or so trying to get it to download emails from my NTL account but I can't get it to work
Has anyone managed to do this ok ?
I'm not even sure of the number to call. I've tried the ones shown here http://www.ntlworld.com/help/generalHelp/settings.html but no joy.
I'm not going to even attempt to contact NTL about this as I already know just how painful that will be so I thought I'd ask on here for some useful advice
cheers,
Andy.

I dont use NTL for my dialup ISP, but all i do is make a DUN connection to my ISP using teh mobile as the modem, Nokia 6310 in my case.
I then have a profile on Outlook for 'Mobile Use' which when it downloads the mail, leaves a copy of it on the server.
Can you connect to NTL and browse webpages via the mobile??

This is the way I did it..
I have a yahoo email account too, not used often. So within yahoo I set up the 'check other mail' facility and entered the ntl details.
I then used to conect to yahoo's wap site and download my emails from there It's dead easy to set up and fairly easy to use too!
hope that helps,
Dave.

thanks for the replies
I think I'll give that Yahoo WAP idea a shot as I'm beginning to think that you can't dial in to NTL mail servers on a mobile. The WAP part of the phone seems to work ok so it'll be nice to actually find some part of that feature that's useful
thanks again,
Andy.
