What sort of usage can I expect with Skype?

I've now got satellite broadband in France, after years of struggling with unreliability with an ADSL line.

But I'm now on a limit, 3Gb per month at the moment, with the option of going up to 20Gb. I no longer have either the phone line, or the ivp phone off the computer.

So my present is 2560Mb download and 512Mb upload.

Does anyone know what sort of usage Skype takes?

bare minimum

 

skype to skype 3mb a minute

skype to mob / landline 1mb a minute

for however long the recipient has patience , with the quality of the line




weve used whats app calling in and out house to aus and it seems good

 

Is the connection good ?


done bit research , I'm guessing 3gb wont be enough

 

Connection is good, with good speed...but a slight lag like a quick dial-up.

Probably closer to 20Mb, whereas my old FT/Orange line struggled to get 6Mb.

Looks like I'll be on my mobile and e-mailing to stay in contact this summer then.....
