Default Smart TV in France?

Any point in me buying one here? Will it work over there?

I do have internet, but it's usually under 10Mb and only ADSL. My TV comes in via a Freesat dish, UK free channels, but I also have French TV in the kitchen with an aeriel.

I've fitted a split head on the satellite dish, so am thinking of putting the 32" French bought LG in the bedroom, and buying a decent 40" + TV for the living room.

Any thoughts?

these android tv boxes with kodi installed would work over there i think as they work over the internet. 10mb internet might be a bit slow for it though.

10 - 12 MB is about the minimum needed to be able to stream content in standard definition from something like iPlayer over here, for which I think they use 720p. If you're regularly getting lower speeds than this, you might find some services can't connect at all, or spend a lot of time buffering. Best option would be to do some testing first with a low-cost French-content equivalent of a Now-TV box (£15 in our supermarkets here or online), if they make such a thing over there, and if the results are pants with one of those it probably won't be worth bothering with the new telly.

Do you have a lot content worth mirroring already on your phone? Is your 3G/4G signal good enough there to use your phone to access streamed/on-demand content online?
