Default Cheap waterproof phone recommendation?

Hi All,

Looking to equip our warehouse staff with a cheap waterproof phone to use with our internal comms & bar code scanners.

Other than bluetooth, wifi & 720p there isn't any other need.

They won't be on any live mobile network, so not fussed if locked or not.

Thinking about the Sony M4 Aqua or something similar.

So it doesn't have to be fully waterproof, water resistant will do, IP67.

Sammy S5's will fit that bill and can be picked up for £150, which is fairly cheap for what you get.

One point of note about waterproof phones..

There not noted for being very loud

Ive Just got rid of a year old mint Experia Z3 for that same reason.

Cracking phone tech wise, but you could be outside in town shopping and it rings its self to death, and you didn't hear a thing

Even in fairly quit places it was the same.

Ive changes to an iphone, and by comparison its like having a foghorn in your pocket.

And the iphone gets an average score with 73Db for ring loudness if i recall

Mart

Was that a sony thing then with the volume? Not an issue with sammy's.

But yea great, except the iphones aren't even water resistant, which is what the OP needed for his useless workforce.

I'd avoid a Sony full stop.

My missus had a z3 whatever it was the really expensive one. Broke 3 times in 6 months. Once the screen smashed for no apparent reason, then twice it bricked it's self, screen went white and vibrated constantly until the battery went dead and wouldn't turn back on.
