Chaps, I love GTA 5 but can I **** work out what I'm doing online ..

So first question, whats the difference between the free and the paid for online things?

 

Where are you looking at the paid and free things? I've never paid any actual money for anything whilst in the online mode.

I do a lot of the deathwatch mission things where you and a few other people try to survive waves of attacking groups. You get about a 100,000 for surviving to the end. Fairly easy way to build up cash.

You need playstation plus to play online on ps4, which does cost actual money. The only paid thing in gta online is the "shark cards" which gives you in game $$$

 

So when I choose the online character I designed and go online .. am I not going online?

I can hear people talking .. but I've not paid anything.

 

If you can get to the online side of things then you are indeed able to play online. I think the map will show various events and things you can join in with.

Can't say for sure as I need to get xbox live gold to go online and I've simply not had the time. I do have some free months trial somewhere, but want to make sure it's at a time when I'll be able to make use of it.

 

If you ain't got ps plus you can't play online, strange that you can here people though.

Never got on with the online thing with GTA5. Haven't got a PS4 but have promised myself one when with GT7 or GTA6 appears. Could be in for a bit of a wait though

 

I have the character wheel in the bottom corn and the bottom character is my online person.

I drop to him and the map loads online. I see (very few) other people walking and driving round and can join races etc, but it's very, very limited. Maybe 10 people in the whole map, gets very boring very quickly.

 

I think "gran turismo sport" is out this year, long time before gta 6 though.

 

It is pretty boring on your own, you need a couple of mates to do the heists with.

Haha of course, but I'm on ps4 so I'm not much good to you, and I've platinumed gta so don't go on it anymore.
