Ebay daily deals have a few 1/3off the one below double the memory on it and should be decent enough.

Just bought an ASUS with Intel i5 processor, decent graphics card, 750 GB and 6GB memory for £349.
Model number was 552. http://www.ebuyer.com/579678-asus-x5...gp9eDpHL_D_BwE Gone up £50, but searching might find it again at the lower price.

Thanks. Think she's off to pc world later to see what they have. I've said if she finds one she likes etc then shop round to get it cheaper. I can see what will happen, 'what do you think of my new laptop?'

Just bear in mind PC-world/Currys have exclusive models.

They aren't any different spec-wise, but when you try to search online for that particular model number it won't exist anywhere else, as its sold only by them and nobody else. They do it on purpose to stop you price matching with other retailers. Doesn't mean you'll get ripped off as I've had a few decent priced laptops off them in the past....always check their website and compare the online prices to the in-store prices.
